Gorgeous. Touching. Saw this when it was re-released and now again. The opposite of ironic and cynical this movie. But the music! Oh man!

Although I found it difficult to adjust to in the beginning, it quickly grew on me and I became utterly invested into the story. The cinematography is remarkable and I thoroughly enjoyed the popping colors. Ending was incredible!

This film is a unique take on a musical and it took some getting used to but once I did, it was quite enjoyable. The camerawork and cinematography is eye candy with all the colors and the shots the director decided to use. I am glad I saw it because it was a unique and interesting viewing ...Read more

I tried to enjoy this movie, I really did. The seemingly aimless sing-sing delivery of all dialogue became increasingly difficult to bear. Eventually I turned off the movie less than 30 minutes into it. The color and photography are spectacular, though.

A magical experience. Deeply moving, beautiful, gorgeous., haunting. I have put off see this film for years - lesson learned! I have been hearing the beautiful theme song my whole life and didn't know this film was the source.

No straight dialogue? Tuneless singing, of EVERY line? No thank you. After about 6 minutes, my ears started to bleed. That much tuneless, unnecessary singing just GRATES on the nerves.

The trailer is still VERY Good. The colors are very good. as for the movie. EXCELLENT. French is my favorite non-American speaking language. I have very early memories of my mother putting on records (showing my age) for French lessons. She would listen to them over and over again before ...Read more

Beautiful, melodramatic, and romantic with some fun transitions thrown in. All you need for a great movie.

Saw the movie years ago when I was very young and it made me cry. A real soap of a story and poor acting, but I love the vivid colors and the music by Michel Legrand wins you over. Without that emotional music, the film would probably never have won the Golden Palm in Cannes.

I don't know why I always put this movie off; have even seen Lola, Jacques' "prequel" to Umbrellas. Very very glad I finally gave it a watch. Beautiful and vivid, both visually and emotionally.

I saw this movie in the theater in the 70's. Beautiful then, & beautiful now. Music just takes you away. If you love pastel colors-------------

Absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful colors, cinematography, and music. Clearly a huge influence on modern musicals especially La La Land, so if you were a fan of that film, this is definitely one to check out.
